Standard 1.4 16v with only a pipercross induction kit. Only ran dat fast on the way back when I bort the car and no-one else in the car, ain't tried since.

The only chance it'll scrub is when your running 7.5j or wider rims.

Its on a £140 suspenion kit from jackson tuning (phil j) which is a nasty cheap peice of sh!t. Granted, it looks damn cool, but it squeaks horrifically over every bump, rubs when i go into a dip in the road and is generally loose and shoddy.

No offence mate but that needs checking out, I to have the same kit and have no issues what so ever. Granted, mine was a bit sloppy at first but that was down to the suspension top mounts, replaced them and all worries went away. PhilJ sells some top stuff so refering it to a "cheap piece of s**t" is wrong IMHO.

rubs when i go into a dip in the road

Oh the joys of lowered suspension!!!!!

lol well i have no idea it was just the guy who fitted it was telling me it was a cheap and nasty kit all look the same to me lol. Yeah im not sure what my rims are but i think they may well be 7.5 J. It rubs when i corner avergaly fast and go into a dip and squeaks alot as well. reckon some WD40 wld do the job?

dont see how it would rub :S

mines lowerd 120mm on the front and no rubbing at all and i was about 80 on the rear as the lip on the arch is wide so couldnt go any lower coz it does scrape but its in the bodyshop now to have the lip cut off , archs rolled and pulled so 120mm all round it is then :D

you should be fine fella even with budget suspension

How can you drive at -120mm

I'm probably only down about half that and have just taken a load of paint off the bottom of my splitter after hitting the bloody road

i dunno its weird i think i may need my arches rolled, on a falt road its ok but a fast bend not even harsh will cause it to rub, any bump causes it to rub, and today i had my friend in the back who is ...rather heavy... and it rubbed over the slightest thing. It also generally groans and squeaks alot. WD40 help at all u reckon?

what profile are your tyres Joe. i only ask because from the pics in the "members rides" section, it looks like you may have the wrong profile tyre?
i could be mistaken but that would go someway to saying why the car scrubs with 15s and 60mm drop!

seems ok to me but the guy fitting it said that it was a cheap and nasty bit of kit and a good set of srings will cost about the same price. Id persoanlly say if your lowering your car for looks then its ok but if your doing it for performance go for something a bit more highspec

ey JoeG07 u know the suspension kit u bought from phil j is that the one thats 60mm at the front and 40mm at the back the one where you can adjust it at the back to go higher and lower

yes it is 60 at the front and i think from 50 to 80 at the back, but ive got it down 60 at the back and it rubs with any1 in the back seat so i wouldnt lower it more. but yeh thats the kit

i bort the car lowered 120mm, had to think of a route to get back to my ends before bringing it home. The guy I bort it from was shocked London had so many pot holes and speed humps- he reckoned his area (shropshire) only had 3 humps in the whole village. Looked gorgeous but I had to raise it to 80mm eventually  after a week did I manage to bring it home!!!
