Cheers again for the help guys!

*Yea man where do I get the wheel bolt covers from??? I've been trying to get them...is there a wesbite that does them? I only have one lol.

*I would be interested in the exhaust but I need to get the whole system right? Not just the back box. And fitting is gonna cost a lot I presume seeing as I would have to cut the rear bumper.

* £30 per wheel isn't bad at all...I'm gonna go find places with similar prices.

*LOl iggy, you were absolutely spot on about me not showing the back of the car cause of the horrible orange lights. No dents in the back though thankfully :D

* I was thinking of getting tinting spray to spray the rear lights black...I'm a bit worried that I might over-do it and have illegal lights at the back :?

If you just want an exhaust pipe then the backbox is all you need. If your unsure just click on the link under my signature to see the box. Fitting isn't really expensive. I had mine fitted and bumper cut for £50. if ever there was a problem i'd just take it back and they'de sfix the problem for free.

hehe we all love the massive orange indicators at the back, its what makes a polo a polo :P

Me and my mate laugh at them all the time. Im like dude it was the style back then all the cars had massive yellow indicators, then ill spend the next 30 minutes looking for other cars with massive ones only to find that only the 6n polo had them haha

and Noz my dent is where the exhaust is, the retard that had the car before me must have been a total noob at reversing =D

But will it make any difference in performance and sound? How will the sound differ if its just the blackbox that is installed? I actually had a look at your exhaust before you mentioned it and was thinking of buying it but realised that the system was missing. Also, is the cutting clean at the back or does it look obvious that its been cut?

Haha I noticed that today lol. I was like what were VW on when they designed the 6n?! Its hilarious. I need to get rid of mine...the whole car looks dark and then you get this massive orange blob that are the rear lights.

You need a full exhaust system to make any difference to the performance, which'l cost above £350. The backbox won't make any difference unless you have performance mods to notice the difference but thats with any exhaust system. It does give a nice-deep and loud burble seeing its 4" wide!

Cutting the bumper depends on who's cutting it. I'v seen a few shoddy ones where a big gaps been left. However most of the time the bumpers cut away around 2mm away so the backbox doesn't vibrate and make a racket. I had mine cut and it was seemless really. Unfrotunelty I don't have any pics anymore of my old cars rear.

Oh okay yea I thought as much. I'm gonna search around to see what palces are the best/cheapest for fitting exhausts. I got the front splitter on my car resparyed and fitted at Top Gear in St ALbans but that cost £120 for that tiny piece of plastic! I don't wanna know how much cutting the rear bumper + fitting the exhaust will cost.

How much does it cost on average to smooth out bumpers?

omg u got ripped off £120 for the spraying of ur spitter and fitting lol, did it come ready primed hehe

u shuda just got some spray from halfrauds and dun a bit of DIY lol fitting it is a piece a cake :)

Exhausts are easy to fit imo bit a bashing a few bolts sorted :P you cud be dareing and do DIY!!! we all love DIY lol

am pretty lucky I worked in a Body shop after leaving school so I got some where to go for the gear to do the body work parts of the car.

He has a lift 2 so Exhausts are easy as well =D

but nothing beats cheap DIY Airasole jobs =D

Ah, aftermarket universal backboxes need to be welded on to the pipe. Not sure but I think ones that are made for the particular car also need to be welded.

as far as im aware u dont need to weld it. my back box on now isnt welded but it does have a sealent round where the joint is. it passed the mot no probs.

as for the diy, everything body work wise done to my car, I DONE IT ALL MYSELF USING HALFORDS AMAZING COLOURS. NOT PERFECT BUT FOR ME IM HAPPY WITH IT. NO BODY SHOP EQUIPMENT OR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE......... HAVE A GO.... ITS FUN..... IF U BALLS IT UP U JUST REDO IT.

But they'll only have the original VW covers. I want something weird lol.

As for bodywork, man I'm not brave enough to try it myself in case I do irreparable damage.

BTW guys, if you want the whole exhaust system done up, go to your local Top Gear garage, they do the best prices! I called up the one is St Albans and they said it would be around £250 for the whole system and that includes fitting! Also that's the price range for a lot of their exhausts so thats pretty good. And you can tell them how loud/quiet you want it to be and what kinda sound you're looking for. They are pros at it and Richard's blue Mk3's exhaust that was on the cover of Perfirnance VW magazine 4-5 issues back was done by Top Gear (in St Albans).

So go there if you want an exhaust setup :D

Didn't know that, unfortunetly an ex work collegue had partnership in Top Gear Essex, shame I don't have his number or i'd try finding out for myself. Want a full system, cat-back box and de-cat centre that I can exchange with the original for MOT's.

Man, I'm getting condensation inside one of my angel eyes headlights. Surely that is not a good thing right? How fatal is this and how can I sort it out?
