made a few phone calls to my insurance company today and i was suprised at how much its going to cost me for a GTi up until my renewal date which is end of march. They said £250 I know its quite a bit but to be honest i was expecting them to say something rediculous. They also told me that it will probably cost me about £1000 to renew for a year. Which is not bad considering I am 19, 2 years licence and almost a years no claims.
I have the money set aside for the insurance so thats all good.

I just need to sell my car and get a good price for it.
I think its going to take a while to sell it and get the price i want for it.

I am thinking about taking out a loan to buy a new car and then paying it off when my car sells. What do you guys recomend doing?

hmm loan is bad news - youll pay an early repayment fee if you do that!

If you want a GTI get one, but funding is always an issue as I well found!

Well the bulk of my money is tied up in my car. so if thats sold then buying a Gti isn't going to cost me that much extra cash. I dont really have any funding problems as far as insurance goes or making up the difference between the price my car could go for and the cost of a Gti.

Would be nice if i could find some one who wants to swap a Gti for a 1.4 lol

My brother did the same kinda thing, he needed money to go travelling, and was waiting on selling his car for a majority of the funds, so borrowed it!

That was nearly two years ago, he's been and come back and the cars still on the drive! Worth probably half what it was back then.

If your going to take out a loan ensure you stick to the selling of the first car hard and fast. Milage and de-value of it will only build up!

I am probably going to be looking at a gti around the 60k mark - I only want to spend up to the 4k mark and I know thats going to limit my choice quite a lot. Matts GTI for sale is an absolute bargain, but he wants it gone fairly soon so I am going to miss that i reckon. :(

I've put this up in the for sale section now, so if you know any one after a polo let them know haha
