I like the Leon Cupra myself. My dad's TDI drives so well, feels like it's on rails. Great handling and steering, really hard suspension tho which spoils the overall package. Plus used values won't be as strong as the Golf

Yeah the new model's handling has come on leaps and bounds and I'd really like a mk2 Cupra sometime in the future. I had an old shape Cupra with Upsolute remap and it was a great car!
As for the Golf GTI, I wasn't putting it down in any way. Really accomplished all rounder. Fantastic ride and handling balance compared to the older ones but it is a big car compared to the Polo. The Polo is much more agile on B roads, but in all other areas is completely out classed by the Golf except in price: £5k cheaper for an equivalent Polo GTI! And that £5k saving is why most of us here have the baby GTI not big brother!

I think the Jag is definately modern classic material. Wrap it up warm and keep it for best, then maybe get something like a Leon FR Diesel for doing the business miles in. Just my tuppence worth though!
Punchy engine, excellent chassis and easy on the wallet. Plus it's not going to be replaced soon unlike the Golf.
Blimey I've nearly talked myself into one now! Anyone want to buy a sorted Polo GTI????

The speed I get through cars Jeff, you never know.....
I'm certainly not leaving my lovely steering wheel in there if I p/x it in some rip off merchant dealership!!! I'm more fond of that steering wheel than the rest of the car put together
