my 2 uncles are coppers, a sergent and an inspector. they both work traffic- T5 guys on the motorways.
neither has ever mentioned my plates and i've had them on since May. the only time one mentioned something was when i was running no front. he said, u best get your plate back on otherwise u'll end up drawing too much attention to yourself.
i might ask him about the crack down this week and see what theyre doing up in Newcastle about it

With regard to your plate of the front, did you have it totally removed, or located somewhere behind teh windscreen?

Reason I ask is I've always wondered what they'd have to say on numberplates displayed in the bottom or top right of the windscreen (as you look at it), instead of the bumper

were those ones pressed or just completely awful fonts and spacings?

I also quote from the website:
Officers will be stopping vehicles displaying number plates that are damaged and therefore difficult to read, as well as plates that have been deliberately altered to read something different.
I honestly think that they will pay much less attention to a European pressed plate. None of ours meet those descriptions, but you never know.

fingers crossed.

i was running a german plate on the dash in view, but the law states it must be on the furthest point forward of the car
he just had a word with my dad to get me to put it back.

£30 mate, it's not actually why they pulled us over (me and another GTi) but that's all I managed to get away with - could have been A LOT worse, but I won't go into detail
