adjustable height is worth it, but not adjustable damping IMO. not for what you seem to want it for.

from what I've read you want a nice comfortable set of coilovers. to me it doesn't seem that you'll be taking it on a track and adjusting it for optimum effect.

the gain from spending £200 extra on being able to adjust it is not better than the gain on spending the £200 on better non-adjustable damping.

the adjustable damping is good for people who want to be able to adjust it for various different setups. do you actually want that?

you need to set a budget first, and then look at what's available - otherwise you'll just keep on looking at more expensive sets. what's the best you can afford?

Its nice to have the option but as I said earlier, I rarely adjust mine from the softest setting so would prob agree from that point of view!

It would be interesting to know how the fixed rate ones are set in terms of Soft > > Medium > > Hard, when comparing to the adjustment of the adjustables. If you get what i mean

It would make sense that they were fixed somewhere in the middle of the range maybe!?

Most descriptions of the highsports and silverlines say they are good for track day use and fast road use (illegal street racing haha!) They are just right i think, definately not a soppy ride, they're firm but not overly so.

The Silverlines don't have adjustable damping but the Siverline-X ones do

The Silverline X do have them yes, and am pretty sure the KonigSport have them also?
The Silverline X are priced at £575.

Well I had a budget of £500-600. The highsports (depending on how good they are would work out well within my budget).
Your right, im never going to use my car on a track etc, just to and from work and occassionally on the motorway. However i do often carry passengers and wouldnt want something unbearably uncomfortable either.

Seriously consider the eibachs. If you dont want to go down crazy low and want the best comfort, i'd say eibach is a very good bet.

I have the Highsport Silverlines basically they're just the highsports (fixed dampening) but they're stainless steel struts, threads, spring seats and lock rings.

Right have decided to go for a set without the 'damening adjustment' feature as I dont think I will need it&once theyre on I cant imagine myself changing it much from hard to soft etc anyway.

Main concern is the coilovers should atleast be 'stainless steel' shouldnt they? to avoid rust issues and road salts etc.

Bearing in mind the cost of coilovers, coilovers are something that I will only buy once and want them to last therefore it is important that I get the right ones the first time, so on that basis I would rule the FK HIGHSPORTS out because they are only Zinc Plated and not stainless steel like the Silverline Series of KW V1s or Eibachs?

What do you think?

You do want the stainless yes if you look at some of the zinc plated ones that are up for sale on ebay and have been used they look absolutely fubared, they look like a rusty crowbar or something, there is no way you'd be able to adjust the height if they got as bad as some of them do!!!!

True say, im thinking the FK Silverline, like you. Dont think I need the Silverline X ones. How you getting on with yours? Is the ride comfy and do they go pretty low?

Pay day is Friday, do you guys agree the FK Silverlines are a good and worthwhile buy?

Definately you'll be very happy with your purchase i was and still i am they're a good ride and obviouslu you can get them down to how low you want to go! I say do it!!
