I cut it too length and took some notches out for the grill tabs, before sliding it into the gap....to get the result of my pic.

I did have the tape before, but this wing bead looks better in my opinion.

so were can u get it from and wat do u use to hold it in cos surely it will come out?

Pop the grill out (so easy) mask it up and paint it! Mine took half an hour at the most! Then refit it 2 mins and then u never have 2 do it again job done!
I used tape when i first got my gti ( in 2002) and it lasted two years i think and from what i rember the hassel of getting it 2 look right! if id know how easy it was 2 paint it id have done it right the first time!

You can get it from a classic VW supplier as it used on the old Beetle and camper, aswell as kit car suplliers/shows.

I used a little double sided tape to hold the ends to the grill from mounting, otherwise the pressure of the panels hold the bead in place.....not had any trouble we mine and its been on all winter with no issues

I got my roll of it from a friend you had a load left over.

still don't have a clue how this stuff sticks on, looks like liquorice to me

any kind of double sided sticky stuff, i used a couple of those 1mm number plate sticky pads cut into strips and spaced out along the bead. i stuck it to the painted part under the black plastic grill though, as the black bit has a bit of a lip on it.

Paint them, its easy enought to do
