NZ seems to have a bit of low end torque, being ableto pull with little revs, but most of the torque really is high end. There's not much difference in compression according to am1strange, something like 9.5 to 10.2 (GT)

@Kupra: did u change ur temp sensor area on the air box? It looks really clean. Where did u get ur roccer cover cleaned? U've left the cool air pipe on, I see from ur pic, have you added another pipe underneath?

Woohoo got some de-greaser for the car, but it's too dark to work now :?

The air flow meter (the metal piece of equipment formerly attached to the airbox) has been replaced with a Golf 8v one - this has a larger bore and accepts a Golf K&N. It's also a straight swap for the original, though you have to fabricate a bracket for it.

As for the rocker cover, it's aluminium. The original one is in a bin bag in the garage. Scour scrappies for one with a large 3D VW badge, buy it, clean it and it'll look like that. Metal polish and elbow grease, that's all you'll need.

I have 2 cold air feeds on my car. The first is a large one which goes from the vent in the front bumper:

The second is a smaller pipe screwed to the original cold air feed pipe, which has been cut off before the flexible bit.

I can take better pics of you want them?

Mine's off a D plate Coupe S, and it's a straight swap. The only thing you need to do is plug the pipe coming out of your current rocker cover or you'll suck in all sorts of s**t.

1.3 Mk2 Golfs sometimes have them too. They look skanky till you clean them up, look for the shape not the colour.

8v Mk4 Polos have alloy rockers too, they're not as fancy but I think they're alloy and I think they're a straight swap. I can't be sure though, but they'd be easier to find.

Picture it cleaned up... it's nicer than the standard rusty one.

Hope this helps! 8)
