Go on www.greenlightinsurance.co.uk they were cheaper than HIC when I tried, then give Brentacre a call on 01792 650933 and see if they'll beat it.

Also, if it's standard try Directline and Elephant.

I was insured at 19 with 0ncb for £1700 iirc

If you want a decent quote ALWAYS ring, esp. in your position.

That sounds like a really good deal Jason, they quoted me £1400 with 1 NCB 20years old and no points!

i did barter them down tho lol!

always get a price from some1 else and tell them they offered u it for less, 9 out of 10 times they will match it just to get custom

it says on the green light website that they only do over 21s tho. dont know how everyone is finding such good deals the best i have is 1600 on thrid part fire and theft, still pretty decent tho.

I got mine when i was 17 with no ncb and little driving experience. the cheapest i got it down to on my own policy was £5,000 with the AA. The most expensive i had was £8,000 with M&S :O

lucky its insured under the dads name eh!! ;)
oh and its insured with elephant :)

where do you live? postcode plays a big difference....i was 19 with no NCB's and i only ended up paying £1300

Got all 3 of my cars covered through Adrian Flux, they are brokers but all the quotes they came back to me with where all cheaper than any i found on sites like confused and money supermarket. Its saved me loads of money and time. Got to be worth a look

stil struggling with insurance guys. my old insurance copany are now tellin me i have not got any ncb ad i was a named driver although they said in the first place i would build it up, not happy! cheapest im gettin is £2000 now. tried elephant they quoted me £4000. ridiculous! may have to sell :(:(

NCB for named drivers are often not always recognised by other insurance companies unless they happen to be part of the same group ie. Admiral/Elephant.

I personally couldn't justify spending £2000 on insurance!

Elephant have never given me a badquote....for what they quoted you i could have a Skyline GTR :-)
