Here's an update on the car so far......

Image

I replaced the full beam bulbs with Philips Blue Vision so the front all match but then decided the sidelights weren't as white as the headlights now so replaced them with 1W Ultra white LED bulbs. These look good but are whiter than the full beam but look good at a distance. Also look good with just Fogs.

Will get some night/evening shots up soon.

Then I bought the under parcel shelf unit from Taylor86 from here. I bought a new VW Golf Mk3 badge and replaced that with the one that was on there.

Then I thought whenever I photoshop I always debadge the back so why not do it. Used the kettle and credit card trick. Then some WD40 to remove the sticky parts left. Think it makes it look at lot better than I thought.

I advised him about getting the rear badge off, i didnt mention a kettle tho

Looks fantastic de badged Howard :)

Your mirror will be in the post Monday :)

EDIT:

You thought about getting some plain pressed plates?

I got some with the D symbol first, but got some plain ones a month or two ago and they look so much nicer IMO as they look more plain (hence the name  ) and subtle :)

Did pour water down back but had cloth directly below badge to catch it. Wasn't straight out the kettle though. Just hot. Badge was off and clean in 5 mins.

Yeah did look at pressed plates but was put off by people telling me there illegal. Wouldn't want a 'D' though just plain metal pressed. If there metal but with UK and makers details etc are they a MOT pass.

Its an X reg isnt it?

You will be fine and pass your MOT no problem. Its only Cars on a 51 plate or newer that need that offial numberplate b****x :)

Ive never been pulled for my plates *touch wood*

Sorry mate, bought it from a fella off here. Think it was made for the Mk4. The badge was an addition by him which I just updated.
The two black straps on the front are to hold an umbrella.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya.

If you spot one, please let me know.

I am gonna be building a boot install for mine but using one of those would mean i could put certain things in the boot still ;)
