stick with 14s and slam it to the floor on coilovers...yu'll get big respect as a dubber! 16/17 you wouldnt ...called a fool by true dubbers (cough cough) and classed as a boy racer.. more chance of getting pulled

^^ So true and DAMN right!
Its like the general chav stigma of trying everyone trying to out do each other with the biggest rims possible on your motor and then bragging about it; "Yeah, boy check ma 17's on ma Nova".
There's much more to having a set of rims on your motor.
When you buy a set take into account the following;
1- Do they suit the style of the car and the overall look I want?
2- Are they proportional to the car i'm fitting them too?
We mainly buy rims for aesthetic purposes and the above questions overshadow trying to fit the biggest rims!

I totally agree dude, the best alloys apart from bbs's on a polo are the standard alloys for a mk1 scirroco, fookin lush, dont see many of them anymore, and when you do even in terrible condition you can say 250 per set, but look awesome powdercoated black, a mate of mine has them on his scirroco ill take a picture so you know what i mean!
