i would love 330 miles per tank, my gti seems to get between 240 and 260 haha but god its worth it

my old corsa SRI got 200-240 lol, take a wild guess at why i sold it

right seen as there is barely any 1.4 se models, i have been looking at the 1.2 S or SE 64, i can get one for £5500-£6000 would you guys reccomend one?

From my own experience, I can't really recommend a 1.2.
It just lacked any real 'go', sounded a bit ropey too.
Anyone else here got one?

now i asked the people in the garage about this and both said the 1.2 is a 4 cylinder im confused, is it definitly a 3 cylinder the 1.2 S and SE 64?

Defo a 3 cylinder.

Thats why it sounds odd.

You'd be better getting a 1.4 'S' or 'E' than a 1.2 'anything' imo.
If you can stretch your funds a little further, then these 2 are on ebay...

the top link the photo of the back of the car it has a tdi badge???

yeah i think it is a tdi, says so in the title too

it has the gti headlights though yeah? how come, are they standard on some polos? how much are they to buy does anyone know?

dunno might be cos its a diesel?? or been upgraded after a crash!

got a mk7 1.2 70e yes 3 cylinder does the job moves better than the wifes 1.2 clio on the motorway. very basic which suits me but ... you knew there was a but, how do you switch off the lane change indicators ie 3 flashes then off and the central locking which locks you in i know it can be switched off but how, my corsa ( sorry for swearing ) made it so easy HeeeeeeeeeeeeeeLP. S

Here the low-down.

The 1.2 is a 3-cyclinder engine whichever variant of power you go for.
Whether it an S model or an E model has no bearing which power variant it is.

The 3cylinder 1.2 comes in 55bhp guise or 65bhp guise.

I drive the 1.2 65bhp model on an E spec, it lacks air conditioning. This may be different in the 9n3 as mine is a 9n.

However, to all the 1.4 lovers out there, obviously its going to be a better engine but it just depends how it affects your insurance, and what kind of driving you need the car for. If you do alot of urban driving and commuting on a local level, I would go for the 1.2. But any more motorway miles and you will notice the more willingness to overtake in 1.4 without changing gear to get the revs up. Thats one thing I'd say, the 1.2 is quite a revvy little engine when you need it to move.... which doesnt help fuel consumption......HOWEVER....I happily get 300-320 miles out of my 1.2 65 bhp E spec Polo 9n, I drive it quite hard and its pretty nippy to be honest in 3 door guise anyway (I can't comment on 5 door, however I did drive a 9n3 (Mk7) 5 door 1.2 with the lower 55bhp engine, and its noticeably more slugglish.

I have a 1.2 SE 64ps, I havn't got any bad points to say about, it's quite nippy, I have AC, elec windows, elec sunroof, heated wing mirrors, I bought the car over 3 years ago with 3000miles on it now has 41000 on it and I'm not bored with it at all,
I travel 250 miles a week comuting to and from work, costs me 35 quid on petrol,
A good point is that the engine has a chain instead of a cambelt,
