I had a Type R, 03. Miss it dearly.

You'll never get bored of the V-Tech.

Almost identicle to VXR's & Cupra R's & Clio Sports
If its not fast enough just supercharge it and have a 300bhp beast

Haha, my girlfrind recently got an 08 KA

Really I am looking for a car with maximum comfort, whilst at home living with parents I can afford it, secondly the insurance group business especially at 19 is very appealing. The mpg figures are good compared to my current 30-40mpg on my polo. The reason for the 14k price is that its the top model, means you can do button start up, the car will automatically unlock when within range without the need to faff around and get the key out, air con etc... Another reason is I need a roomier car as in the future I will maybe even have kids so this car will be there for a long time.

Ollie, I've just been looking at the ibiza as well, its quite appealing, might book a test drive, but wont be buying till some time next year (2009).

Waiting on the fiesta in terms of price as maybe some deals might come along to promote it, also waiting to hear some reviews about it in person too see what flaws it has, it looks stunning in person but the back seats do lack abit of room which is a must for a 5 door car long term wise.

Any more advice and comments appreciated.

I think it's a bad investment. But people could say exactly the same thing about my automotive interests.

It's your car, your money your choice mate. Do as you please 8)

I think you'll regret ploughing so much money into a brand new car that quite honestly underneath the fancy skin is pretty crap. especially at your age, you might get lumped with unnecessary debt.
it's something that rich stupid girls and grannies will buy.
go for something like a polo 9n GT TDI, great little cars that are not too expensive to run amd lots of fun, you will still find models that are like new out there and not have to worry about the big hit of depreciation that a car faces in it's first couple of years.

TDI's are the way forward mate, you can get something alot faster which is probably the same insurance group as that! My dad would say I've lost the plot if I told him I was buying a new fiesta for 14g's he'd tell me to buy a merc s class instead for that much!

I can't believe a 1.4 fiesta can cost £14k brand new. For that reason alone I wouldn't buy one.

A brand new Ford will always lose lots of money unless it's something like an RS.

My advice is get a 2 year old car, or a 3/4 year old car with a warranty and that's been looked after.

For instance, look at the 130bhp TDI for sale in the for sale section. It's the new shape Polo and something like 8k. That 6k difference is a lot of cash, especially if you invest it wisely. Plus in 3 years time the 8k Polo is worth 4k, whereas the 14k Fiesta is worth 6 or 7k.

You can even look at the 9N for value - my TDI will be sold next year at some point and it'll probably be worth less than 5k. 130bhp, 60mpg, and all the bits you might be tempted to fit if you ever got one.

New A3 or even alfa 147, all good cars but ur choice.

Couple of things:

a) Unless you happen to have more money than sense, why new? and

b) For that kind of money, I'd be buying a Suzuki Swift Sport. Small, new, funky and fantastic to drive.

a mk6.5 fiesta zetec s would be much beter than that :-
- More pokey
- Good on petrol / Deisel
- Well cheap to insure
- Look Way better than the new design
- Can pik up low milage 08plates for £8000 so ud save £6000 right there
- The list goes on.

I am confused though why you want a low insurace car but willing to pay £14000 for one plus as soon as your name goes on the log book will loose thousands.

think long and hard also if you want a loan or not its a big commitment!

Love that new Fiesta design

Looks at least 20 years ahead of the Polo or the Mk6 Golf for example

I think you could spend the money better though
