92 000 on the original box,

and i aint no constant 40mph driver either. 8)

I have however changed the oil and added a special Forté gearbox oil treatment

I'm just about to turn 91,000 and according to the history and previous owner it is the original box - sounds like it too ;)

Reckon it will be dead in another 10k easy :D

My GTi with FFW box had run 135770km/84363miles still good except some mild oil leaks.

Change gearbox oil twice with clutch change in past 7 years.

As i didn't heard much gearbox issues for GTi in Hong Kong, and i think we all have FFW box, i wonder if those failed box are of the other type ?ETG ?DTX

Cheers.

I've noticed the problems in the cold, it has been really cold up here though. Quite stiff for 5 minutes before it all warms up. Still love my short shifter though

Yeh, my box has always been like that, a little stiff on cold, fine after though. Has been like this through all 3 clutches of mine, before and after the rebuild and before and after the short shifter.
