Where can i get wire that is rated to a high temperature? Would normal household wires do?

Domestic wiring is clad with PVC... which will melt and catch fire!
You need some high silicone wire...and dont be tempted to solder the wires together... you need crimps as Alex said...
Rswww.com sell silicone wire for high temp applications..
Or go to your local breakers and ask if you can clip the cables of a few old sensors
