sounds alot like mine mate, at first i thought it was the clutch release bearing, i took it to get checked out and they felt the clutch was fine but couldnt pin point the answer, so they told me to wait till the noise gets worse then take it back, so over a course of 3 weeks the noise didnt get worse, but 1 morning i was driving the car the gearbox just went :(

so i best get it checked out ASAP

had it checked out mate, just had a rebult gearbox but the muppet who fitted it obv ain't put the release bearing on the crappy clips that hold it there. it works as it should but is defo the release bearing lol

o.k goin to get a new clutch then, i read about a sachs clutch kit? does this include the release bearing that i need? where do i get 1 from and how do i go about ordering it? cheers

Ring GSF a ring - 02089173800, they can get hold of the SACHs kit. And it's a complete kit, everything you need

Won't need your engine code. As both engine codes for the GTi use the same clutch.
