visions of tons of filler come to mind :(
You'd need "tons of filler" on a hole that small? The weight of the amount of filler that you'd need to fill it would probably weigh in at about as much as a couple of CDs in the glovebox.

Smooth wings are cool. 8)

I know nothing mate :) It'd be tons of filler were *I* to do it, that's for certain.

How would you plug the hole anyway, without either a cap or having to weld a fresh bit of metal behind than then fill upwards?

I've had a little black plastic plug on mine since 2002 when I had my beesting fitted (might just about be able to make it out in my sig pic). It's what G40s come with.

Oh, found a picture:

I've neatened it up a bit since...

I have been toying with the idea of fitting a golf cl spoiler, but how easy are they to fit. can they just be bolted onto the bumper where it curves under the car? I have heard all manner of means of fitting it, and I have been somewhat put off. I addition, how easy are the arch extensions to fit? It really alters the appearance of the car, and would give the GT/G40 look.

Thanks

g40 arches do look rather nice on them! i got a set ready and waiting, they use this black headed rivits! (now u no wot those little square hole on the underside of the wing r 4!) recomend some way of sealing them to the wing to stop water getting into the wing, makes em rust!

Well to answer a few questions relating to the photos of my car:

The old aerial hole is covered with one of those G40 black plastic caps. I think it looks smart, obviously if I was really picky id smooth it off. But I don't want to play about with a perfectly decent panel!

I drilled new holes into my arches, and for the sills, (They have special weak points where the gt/g40 shell would have em fitted!) Then used pot rivets to attach em. Look sweet.

The cl splitters fit a treat and i used the same rivets to attach em.
