Well i finally got a de-cat, cost me £65 which is pennies really.
The pipe which was made up there and then, has had a threaded adaptor welded on for the lambda sensor.
I dont have any engine lights, idle is perfect, noise is f*ckin awesome

and for those who say that a power increase wouldnt be noticed were soooooo wrong. Feels more like a gti now

Sorry dont get on here much anymore.
I still have the pre-cat or watever its called. The de-cat is welded in.
I have the original cat still in the boot if i need to get it put back on for an MOT but the bloke in the garage that did the work do MOT's, so i will be taking it there next time. (I have just put 12 months on it though so dont need to worry about it for a while. lol)
I will try and get a video of it and the noise but i lost my camcorder two weeks ago when i went on the p*** (drinking and taking electronics dont mix, haha. spent two hours looking for that thing. lol) I will try and take one on my phone.
The top end has much more pull from 80-130.
Best £65 i ever spent to be fair.

Sounds good! Can't wait to hear the sound of it, gutted about your camcorder lol
The "books" say the GTI will do 127MPH tops, but what have you guys achieved? (On your private race strips)
Some guy in germany claims he can get 230KPH out of his GTI and that only has an exhaust system.
Thats roughly 142MPH so I wanted to know what people on here have topped out at?
Never taken mine over 120-25 so never seen in max out, but I believe it could get 130+

I've never trusted speedos.. The other week on a private road near me, I had it at 140mph with some revs left. I don't believe it at all. But yeah, that's my say

I watch the speed through the climatronic as well as the speedo, there are a few mph difference, the climatronic readings are more accurate with GPS than the speedo

Channel 16, its in KMH to start with, pressing the AUTO & ECON buttons together on the right hand side changes it to MPH.
I made a quick PDF document you can download if your interested:
