Mine is the best car i have ever had and probably one of the cheapest i have ever owned, howver it still feels and drives like a brand new car in my eyes.

Re: Looking to buy gti
I got a dog off a gti when i purchased mine and 3 thoudsand pound later its all fixed and is on the road fine, but im still blowing my gearbox main seal!
So my advice would be to have access to emergency cash/credit card because ul deffo need one with a gti!
I would look into the 106 gti scene if u own a 106 already and are happy to change to something ffaster than the gti, handle better and will be more reliable for sure!
Or a lupo gti with a 6 speed?

Well I've previously had 3 Saxo's: 1.1, 1.4 and a VTR. I've owned my GTi for over a year now and still love it. It's faster than my previous cars (obviously) and handles better too. Build quality doesn't compare and the car gets more looks than my modified VTR ever did.
I still have a bit of a soft spot for VTSs and 106 GTIs, but I look at my Polo and know I've made the right decision.
