yesterday i had a litlle "meeting" among friends.
and it was a great opportunity te "test" a bit against each other.
it was the first time for me and my polo since it is mapped to stage 2.
and about a week ago i installed a 4bar FPR and got it mapped again.
car runs alot smoother and feels a bit faster also.
so, time to test against other cool stuff...
everything was from rolling start.
Polo VS Honda Civic Type R EP3 (215Hp)
the GTI seriously took about 4 - 5 carlenghts emmediantly.
it wa such a diffrence that i tested in 3th gear 2500rpm and the Type R in 2nd gear about 5500rpm (Vtec zone)
we were neck on neck untill after 5sec the type R needed to shift and fell behind, polo was gone
Polo VS Nissan Sunny GTI-R (300Hp)
tested several times from 2nd gear, 50Km/u to 5th gear, 200Km/u.
run after run it was exacly the same, neck on neck.
realy thought i would loose this one because this GTI-R is exacly as fast as a E46 M3 up to 200Km/u (after that M3 gets away)
polo VS Subaru impreza (1st model 270Hp)
i have to say that the impreza was not running right, had a few problems with it but tested anyway.
he had no chance at all, turbolag like a pig, polo bursted away...
tried it with the polo in 3th gear and subaru in 2nd gear and polo still launched away from the impreza.
not realy a reference but, fun to do
polo VS Subaru Impreza (1st model 330Hp)
i know this one i realy fast, good friend of mine also.
but also has alot of turbolag compared to the GTI.
so the polo took about 2 - 3 cars on him and when we go to next gear he starts to come closer, shortly after he blows by pretty fast!
did a run in low RPM just for fun (about 2500rpm)
polo pulls away and subaru got turbolag.
when i got to 220Km/u i still diddn't see a subaru passing me, he was still 2 cars behind
he was verry supprised by how the polo goes
polo VS Ford Focus RS (1st model 255Hp)
also has a bit turbolag so the polo pulls away pretty fast and keeps on going.
could not keep up.
did a run in high rpm (about 3500 - 4000rpm)
and still the polo was faster, pulled away a bit less but still verry strong, took about 15 cars on him from 50km/u to 220km/u
thought it was faster...
Polo VS Honda Integra Type R DC2 (227Hp)
i must say that this car is realy realy fast, gas response is like no other car, realy!
it could go along side with the polo from rolling start, but only for a second or 2.
after that the polo makes more power and torque and i took a about 2 - 3 cars on him, after that it was pretty much the same.
polo was getting away still, but slowly.
polo VS Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-T (260 - 280Hp)
immediantly i took about 2 cars on him, after that it was like the integra, slowly but sure the polo got away, but not by much.
shame it was still limited on 180Km/u
so, after all this, we all were supprised about how the litlle GTI goes (including myself)
never thought it could keep up, let alone win from such cars

polo goes verry strong now, i can feel that, but this was beyond expectations!
so we did a Vbox run again, this divice is one of the most accurate things i have seen to measure Hp.
tested it many times if someone has gone to a dyno, the Vbox said the same result within 5Hp diffrence.
this could be diffrent from being on a dyno or being on the road.
anyway, when it was mapped without the 4bar FPR it got 190Hp@wheels and about 219Hp on the flywheel.
did some runs and the best run was 212Hp@wheels and the least was 204Hp@wheels.
so we took the average of those runs,
now it has 208Hp@wheels and about 240Hp on the flywheel.
soon i'm going to a dyno where i have allways been to, so we can see the results and upgrades perfect.
curious about the torque... must be over 350nM i guess
other things we measured:
100-200Km/u: low 15sec with 2 persons (alone i must get high 14's)
100-150Km/u: 5.7sec (2 persons)
next time i'll make some movies of it.
i have to test against som eother friends also...
Civic Type R EP3 248Hp
Civic Type R EP3 245Hp
Fiesta ST supercharged, 266@wheels and 300Hp on fly.
i'll keep you posted!
