I may be really stupid, and i feel like im annyoing you guys.

But, technically there should only be FOUR connections.

a positive and a negative coming from the car to the relay.

and a postive and a nagative from the relay to the horn.

but on that list on connections alex gave me, there are FIVE connections.

One of which i gathered was linking the negative of the horn to the negative of the car thats connected to the relay.

but in order to do this i will need a 3 way connection. so i was asking wat do i need to make that 3 way connection.

Off this subject. Im installing a new high note horn which i purchased from halfrauds for 15 squids. Is it just a case of replacing the old one for this?

Nah your not - its just a simple mistake :P

Crimp BOTH of the negative wires into ONE crimp connector and connect it to the relay. If you dont want to do that, splice them together, or join them in some other fashion. But crimping with the correct connector (Blue or Yellow) will be the correct way to do it.

And yes polo_mad - it is as simple as that.

Well, in practical terms the grounding is done on the new horn already by fixing it to the car. The new (fused) 10 A connection via the relay is the one that provides the power to the horn.

The old circuit of the existing horn is now only used to trigger the relay.

If the new horn is a dual horn type, you still may need to splice the wires to both horns (positive) ...

Oh - and nobody is annoying anyone :)

You have not asked the question yet where you are going to put the relay itself

Phew!

Thats made it a hell of alot more simple! thanks!

You connect the positive from the existing horn to 86
You connect the ground (negative) from the existing horn to 85
You connect the new horn positive to 87 - RED
You join the new horn ground to the existing horn ground cable - BLACK
You join a new wire directly from the positive on the battery to 30 ensuring you fit a 10A fuse inline with this wire for safety - RED

If the colour for the wires are right, what colour crimps and should i be using.

If you could not it by the side like i have done. that would be a great help.

Also, i take it because this horn is sold in halfords it will pass the mot?

Thanks for all the help, i really appreciate it!

Coour of crimps irrelevant, I happen to have a load of blue and red connectors, so everything is blue and red :) Nobody looks at the crimp colours, only at the cable colours.

Where are you going to mount the relay by the way to ensure it does not get wet?

And yes - it will pass an MOT ...

Crimps are only relevant to the cable size being used

Ok, thanks!

Mounting the relay, i have no idea. lol. It will need to be near the horn its self.

I will probably wrap it in a balloon.

Also, i think this should be moved to DIY.

I would mount the relay next to the battery, just extend the horn wires back up - it is only an extension cable ...
