its not getting power then. Hmm. Is it firmly plugged into the adapter wire (wire from the HU to the adapter box)? It check your ground connector is solid - it could be a problem with that. Have you got a multimeter?

Ok so its now powering up ie when i put the ipod in to the adapter the ipod lights up. However, the main menu of the ipod comes up but then 1 second later it changes to a screen saying "OK to disconnect" then instantly flicks back to the main menu and carries on doing this!

:(

Hmm try doing a reset on your ipod before plugging it in. Press and hold menu and the center button until you see the apple logo then plug it back in ;)

Already tried it and made sure i have the most up to date firmware on the iPod. It's the iPod Video 30GB and its a 5th generation one, which is compatible with this kit.

I have the 60GB of that gen, and when I had my VW iPod kit it worked fine. It sounds like a power problem still. You dont by any chance have another iPod or HU to try it against do you? There has been a known fault with certain batches of the iPod kit not working properly after a certain period.

Was it new or used?

iPhone doesnt fit?! surely it should as they use the same connector?

Hmm try unplugging the quadlock on the back of the radio and check the ground again. Something isnt connecting right somewhere (well thats the card I think its wise to play at this point anyhow!)

Oh its a cradle I see. Can you remove the cable from the cradle at all?

Yeah you can, however there is no casing around the part that actually plugs in to the bottom of the ipod when you unplug it from the cradle. I suppose this doesn't really matter if i take it out of the cradle and plug it in to my iphone and see what happens!

Looks to me like the illumination plug which is normally a brown wire pre can-bus.
My Lupo had one going to the in dash CD changer.

Hmmm thats very odd. It would suggest an iPod problem if it works with the iPhone. What about plugged into the ipod when its not in the cradle?
