Be hard to find a decent conditioned set at a Scrap yard though, the lenses need to be really clean otherwise it wont be worth it.

Haha! Well a set went for £22 the other day. I was going to buy them but found some gti ones so got those instead. They were only £36 posted, bargain! They need some work tho- the adjusters don't work and the mouting brackets are broken. But I'm sure I can get them sorted :)
I will get a xenon conversion kit in a few weeks, but until then il just be happy that my car will look good!

Yeah scrappies seem to be charging a fortune for things recently, even on eBay people seem to want a lot for the headlights.

Will keep an eye out!

just wondered if that guide was ever done on how to change the adjusters??

my headlights are here, just fixing brackets and then need to sort out the adjusters.

good news tho - they came with the ballasts and bulbs so a MASSIVE bargain at just £37!!!

I still haven't found any replacement non-gti headlights to fix mine yet so can't do a guide as yet...

You can get replacement brackets as a repair kit from vw. As for the adjusters, you'll need to split the headlight and use parts from a good set

Oh I didn't realise vw sold them, I found a company on eBay who sell a kit for £16, I'm guessing vw will probably want twice that :/

From looking at them earlier I think we can make some homemade brackets! We had to cut the plastic bits inside the car where the headlight go, as the ballasts didn't fit with them there. No harm done tho :) but we can use the plastic which we removed and use it to make some brackets, along with the help of a few screws and tiger seal! :)

If its not done properly it can fail an MOT so you know. Also the kits are cheap as!
