Fair play mate you have put in some serious hours on this car and have done a great job so far.
Your pretty brave to buy a car in that kind of condition but its refreshing to see an old Polo being brought back to life.
What other plans have you got for the car?

Cheers chaps. I would have left it there if it was rusty, i just spotted a bargain, all cosmetic
plans, well not much else to be honest, but who knows

deffo having a respray, coilovers, got my wheels and tyres ready to go when i decide on a wheel colour. ive got a PAS set up ready to go on aswell. getting my tailgate shaved, and may also flush the plate recess in the front bumper. oh im also toying with a 9n steering wheel, got one ready to go, just having the time to graft is hard to find

getting a mk4 golf gti steering wheel today, see if that fits, i prefer it to the 6n2 gti one as its thicker, and more comfortable for my huge grippers

also started fixing some of the paintwork in prep for the partial respray. got a few ideas for my custom roof on the go also

I'm pretty sure the mk4 golf has a larger spline for the steering wheel than the polo mate

certainly does, just had a look, and the airbag squib is separate where as its recessed in the polo wheel. well, you cant make an omlette without breaking some eggs

looks like im going to have to stick to the 6n2 one, i cant be bothered to faf with a mk4 one to make it fit.

small update, set the ride height i wanted, not to low that anything is rubbing and manages to get around the terrible roads ok, bit bouncy but i can live with that. finished the door cards finally!!! sorted out the wiring for the wing mirror adjustment, all i need now is to fit some window winders that match haha. Also got hold of a Laguna splitter, cut shaped and fitted, quite like it if im honest.
i am slowly putting a guide together for fitting 6n2 door cards into a 6n, should be up soon in the guides section.

Thanks mate, its getting there. got another rear disk set up this week

sold my last one as i thought it would be overkill for a 1L but I'm due an mot, and my rear shoes are mega worn and the drums are lipped, so i may aswell upgrade. hopefully getting some 16v hubs today, and some early mk3 golf gti calipers, make the fronts 280mm

. breaking will be amazaballs then haha plus i can then work on the misses, convince her the car needs a 20vt conversion to make best use of the braking capabilities hahaha
also coming to a deal for my respray, my xbox 3 games 2 controllers, plus doing a timing belt on the painters transporter = new paint for my car

hes also doing my wheels on that deal, but im still undecided on wheel colour, Im thinking nimbus grey would look good against the red.........
