Certainly food for thought, but my car's too good to waste. I know that sounds like I'm gloating but after a full respray and a few other new bits no way am I getting shot of it.

Besides, having had it for 4 years I know a decent amount of history on it and there's FAR too much stuff to swap over to a different car to make doing so worthwhile. I reckon it'd take less time to just do an engine conversion.

With uprated G40 spec brakes (EBC pads/discs and PSD hoses), Spax adjustable suspension with poly bushes all round and the fact that it's a GT anyway so it's pretty similar there just seems no sense in junking it and starting on a G40 which (at present) is an MoT failure. I'd imagine that though it sounds mechanically fine, there must be something pretty screwed up on that car if the owner's selling it off cheap in spite of it's good engine. It's probably in need of welding, maybe the brakes are knackered? Who knows, and, as long as the engine's ok I suppose it doesn't really matter if it's only being used as a donor car.

That aside, it's red, mine's grey. I know which colour I'd rather have :P (no offense to owners of red Polos, but I really like the colour of my car).

Spoke to my Dad again last night, and he's not dismissing it as an idea but what he's saying is fair enough. I've got problems with getting it home and storing it, not to mention the amount of Uni work I need to be doing. Really, I should be concentrating on that! Besides, he's busy at work right now and I think he wants to help. Next year is sounding promising!

I've got more than just a respray to unvel at this year's shows anyway, I've got a few bits left to sort before BVF, so maybe it's best I stick with the GT engine and get it totally ready for this year's show season.

I envy whoever gets that car though. :(

You going to enter your car in the show n shine at BVF seeing as it's been resprayed? I know of another GT with fresh paint that'll be debuting at BVF all being well too, and it's sweet!

Provided it doesn't have an encounter with a screwdriver in the meantime, I'm definately entering it in the show and shine this year.

I think I know who else will be unveiling a GT too. 8)
