I've had Michelins on my previous car and can't fault them at all. Excellent in both dry and wet conditions, I even thought they were pretty decent in heavy snow as well. That said, most people seem to agree that they are pretty awful in snow so I'm either Sebastian Loeb or seriously lucky, probably the latter lol.
The tyres on my GTi at the moment are a bit of a mixed bunch, Nexens on the front and some other weird brands on the rear. Not inspiring in the wet at all, had a couple of hairy moments emergency braking in the wet. Planning on replacing them as soon as I can justify with Michelins or Continental SportContacts, heard good things about them so look like they might be worth a try. Anyone got any experience with them?
