Is there any difference in performance between the sports cat and the de-cat?

Full turbo back milltek. Worth it?

Post by benmkiv »

The only difference is the 5k fine for having no cat effectively I think :p the police are real tight Down here so u don't think I'd ever consider the decat at all. Sounds mad though mate!

i also have a full milltek non resonated.
sound perfect, just the way i wanted it to be.
normal when you drive normal, a bit louder with a deep thunder-ish noise when you push it

had the milltek also on the polo before it was mapped.
fuel economy went a bit up but not much.
got it mapped a while ago and fuel economy went down when you drive normal.
but when you floor it, it gets thirsty
it's worth it all the way.

polo's should be made like this leaving the showroom  :P

about Decat, i does make a diffrence, a bit more power and torque is gained without a CAT.
and the sound becomes evil, it will spit fire and give people goosbumps
if it's worth it you should make that out for your own.

Question;

Anyone know if there is a way to get a "R32" look on the exhaust..? With the two centred tips..?

Appetantly not, atleast not at my closest milltek dealer... But he said it would take between 3-4 hour to mount the turbo-back..? Is that correct? I sort of remember someone here saying it took 1-2 hours?

Tbh mate I don't see why not. Would just mean re routing the pipe. But you would have to fabricate the bumper to take them in some way and also get a custom made milltek which I don't know if they'd do. I believe the point of the millteks is to go straight through for less restriction in regards to the garage passin the MOT find a different garage ;)

3-4 hours for installing a exhaust system on a polo
i do it all by myself in about 1 hour, not rushing it at all

I put mine on the rolling road the other day, it has the miltek system, remap and forge intercooler. it produced 228.9BHP

The system i have on now is a resonated sports cat, its ont very loud at all, changing it to a decat sometime this week hopefully if it arrrives!
