Trust me dude, I ask this myself all the time! Even the mk4 ibiza cupra comes with 4 pot 312mm AP brakes.

I believe they are brembo's and the duds are 305mm

Either way much better than our stock brakes on the polo

Certainly.

I have Seat Leon Cupra brembos and 323mm discs on mine

if our cars were 4x100 i would of had the Seat Ibiza brembos with 305mm.

I'm still not sure why no GTI produced by VW has four pots :?: or at least to my knowledge

cos the VW group know, that other parts off difference cars will fit on to the polo thus still making endless profit - putting on 288s from a late 90s/early 00s car is far more cost effective!

they know the 312s fit on the polo gti - but why put them on, when people like us are willing to pay for 312s seperately :(

its all a s**t loop!

but back to the original post... get better brakes!! lol

Its defo AP 4pot calipers as I was enquiring about this on seatcupra.net. The brembo's you are talking about were on mk3 seat ibiza cupra.

But yeh, pretty sad VAG lets us down on the brake part :(

Sorry for not checking in that often :P No network at home atm, so now I'm spending my time during a test at school to see what brakes I need to get xD lool.

Anyhow, Revo is not an option.. Not possible to get that in Norway^^

So let's just make this clear. If I want the easiest and cheapest solution, apart from not doing sh**, it's to upgrade the front calipers to 312mm? that's it? No need for new discs or anything like that? And how hard is it to fit these? Had a mate do it on his 1996 polo, change the pads and discs, and that took him some time..

Whoops, found there is 1 Revo dealer in Norway.. And since I live in Oslo, he is not that far away.. Is Revo stage on good for 210 bhp? :O

It's because the gti is not top of the range.
Golf for example its the R.
If you want good brakes golf r32 ones are for you they are not cheap at £200 per disc and £200 for pads total of £600 (vw items, better than EBC etc) for the front brakes but they out stop my mates with leon cupra r etc and loads of other big brakes setups.
