Thought fiesta is overhyped in the uk, every single website i saw rate it way higher then polo.
Are you going to sit on 14 wheels? just out of curiosity..

It comes with 15" wheels as standard, I'm just going to leave them that way. After the hard ride on my Fiesta I'll be happy with some comfort :)

Does your car ride nice and smoothly with 14" alloys?

ive got a 1.4 match and i love it. its not as nippy as the 1.2 tsi but im not really too bothered about speed, if i was i would have got a gti
However i wouldn't say its slow, it pulls well when i need it to and on my last tank of fuel i managed to get 44.3 mpg and 370ish miles. I would also agree that out of all the levels of trim it offers the best value for money !
with regard to ride comfort ive got the 16" knight alloys on and the ride i think is superb. i would say that i suspect anything bigger would start to affect the ride a bit.
hope this helps and good luck with the new car.

Thanks Sherrif :)

Having to wait three months is a pain, but on the plus side the dealership are allowing me to go in every week and add money to my deposit. I worked out that by the time my car arrives I will have given them enough of a deposit to get my monthly payments down to roughly £200, which is great!

I bought a chrome grille from an SEL model, I wonder if the dealer will fit it for me before I pick my car up? I don't want to get stung for massive labour charges.

as for the grill you should be able to fit it yourself its real easy, a guy on here called CANDYMAN has done an excellent walk-through. i will post it below.
CANDYMAN wrote:HOW TO SEL LOWER GRILL

Tools required
The Hook device VW supplied in the boot.
A flat blade screwdriver with making tape wound around the tip to prevent scratching.

Before

1st
Remove the foglight covers to do this place the hook device that is in the boot into the little holes in the foglight and pull forward get your finger in the gap and pull! they come off really easy

Image

Then get your flat blade screwdriver and insert into the holes in the bumper where the grill tags are gently lever the tab across to the centre of the car while pulling forward on the grill.

Image

Image

Once the tabs are free place your fingers through the grill and sharply tug the grill forward.

Then get your new SEL grill and line up the securing tabs and bang it back in place

Then put your foglight covers back on and bobs your uncle she looks better now

It's here :P

The dealership phoned only about four days ago and said my car had turned up (6 weeks early!), just picked it up about an hour ago :D

I've already fitted my SEL grille, aluminium headlight/ mirror control rings and chrome tailpipe. The exhaust on my car is cut at an angle for some reason so the tailpipe was a bit funny to get on, anyone else find this?

That's good news :) Can you put some pics up of the aluminum headlight / mirror control rings? Do you have a part number? :D

I got them from these German guys on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluring-fur-L ... 001wt_1094

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluring-fur-S ... 642wt_1094

They fit absolutely perfectly and they look like they came with the car.

we had a fiesta before getting the polo. Until the steering arm bent as we where driving down the road, and smashed the front drivers side wheel and all the rest. Ford refused to accept the problem and lucky enough we saw a polo for sale at the dealership, best thing we did.

Missus loves the polo, am sure you will too.

It just slips right on over the top of the old one, goes on easily and is just tight enough that it wont come loose.

PumpkinPie, I know you've mentioned you fitted an SEL grille. May I ask what you have done with your old grill? Reason for asking - I had a pebble go through mine and it's left a three inch hole in mine so i'm looking for a 2nd hand lower grill in decent condition. Would you sell yours?
