Are you sure that they're actually stone chips? They don't look it to me... is the paint surface actually broken? If you do indeed have some sort of paint protection film on there I'd be more inclined to think that it's something that got trapped underneath...

Not sure what it is :S Maybe pour the t cut rust thing on it. Wait until it goes black. Then colour magic over it. Then polish it. Wonder can the rust treatment damage normal paint

It shouldn't damage it, that's what the product was designed for, to remove rust from small areas.

If I leave it will it spread and start to bubble and look like a 20 year old Metro ? Lol

I don't know about that one lol, but if you leave the chips untreated water gets under the paint and the lacqeur will start to peel

Have you heard of them? Seems easy and good? Halfords didn't have my paint - they only have grey anthracite. . im nimbus grey.

I assume this is a new car? If it has rust take it to VW and tell them to sort it! Paint is on a 10 year guarantee

So I did the G3 on the scratch I had on the door. . .it looks much better. . . I was afraid to do it anymore incase I started taking off good paint. . .do you guys think i'd bee able to do it a couple of more times to get rid? How do you know if that's the best its gonna get?

It will happen over a period of time, so don't worry... I've heard of that chippex before and the video looks goods! If the scratch catches you're nail when you feel it then that's the best you're gonna get I'm arid but its hardly noticeable anyway! Give it another try, you won't damage the paint by hand or remove any because you can't build up enough heat to do so!

I think the 12 year corrosion guarantee is only for actual rust bubbling/forming... I don't think it covers things that could've been prevented like chips.

Rust is only covered from inside out. . . not stone chips

Went to the bodyshop today as it's less than 30 seconds drive from my house and my left fog grill not being properly clicked in was annoying me. I'd spent about £600 in this place before on my last Polo 9N3 for various paint jobs so they know me and clipped the grill in for 5 quid.

While I was there I asked him about the rust and he very kindly went into the workshop and got touch up paint and put it on . . .it looks kind of white though which is weird as when he put it on I could see it was grey! He said that when it's just put on it will sit high but as it dries out over the hour it will come down and settle.

Do you think I should G3 it? . . .if some still sits above the bonnet would G3 sand away the rough bits or would it rip the paint out. I'm kind of worried.

You will be fine using the G3 to carry on cutting the small scratch out. Your doing it by hand so you will struggle to generate enough heat to cut through the clear coat. As for the touch up paint, you will always struggle getting an exact colour match and not seeing the 'Blob' of paint. Unless its right down to the base coat / colour coat I usually just leave them as I personally think they look ten times worse when touched up. All you can do is build it up gradually, leave for a couple of days to settle and set then use a rotary polisher (can use a dual action but takes a lot longer) with a finishing pad and some abrasive polish to cut back the excess paint.

I just looked at it and it looks AWFUL!!! Like three wee blobs ! I'm screwed I miss the rust holes.

Haha on our VW filled ones (same colour as yours) they washed away after a few weeks so needn't worry if they didn't prep the area properly like degrease it etc I doubt it will last long. They do look terrible, don't even match. At all!!
