Auto lock and unlock was in [09] central electronics, and was either the first or second byte (quite close to the beginning).

This was done using VCDS official version 11.11.6 and my genuine VCDS HEX-CAN+USB cable.

We took the a bluetooth kit out of her older Polo. It was purchased by me as a kit from a Spanish chap on ebay recommended to me by a friend back in Jan 2011 just before we took delivery of her older 6R Polo SEL. It's a complete genuine VW kit with Bluetooth module, full plug and play harness that just plugs into the original loom (no cutting at all) and a VW roof mounted mic that goes behind the grill in the overhead light console.

As I said, the whole things plug and play, and the only VCDS coding is to add the telephone module to the CAN gateway (adding module [77] telephone). The whole thing took about 45 minutes to install.

With regards to the instrument staging on ignition switch on, as someone else posted, its in the adaptation channels of the instrument cluster near the bottom. Don't bother to activate the "Staging" channel as it won't work, instead look further down for "indicator celebration", which on ours was set to off. Just changed it to on and bingo, all done.

I'm using 11.11.4 and none of the central electronics have labels cheers for your help

With regards to actually fitting the fogs, then that's dead easy. The hardest part was removing the fog light blanks as obviously there's no hole for the trim removal hook to fit in. I just put detailing tape on the lower edge of the blanks on the painted bumper side (just to protect the paintwork from scratches), then got my trim removal tool in under the bottom edge of the blank and levered it out. Once the first clip was released at the bottom, the second one nearer the lower outside edge can be released and once these two are done, the trim can be pulled from the bumper with your hands. Total time to remove both blanks about 5-10 minutes.

I had previously purchased the Kufatec harness, so i ran the cable between both sides of the cars (for each fog) behind the lower main grill by first quickly releasing the under side splash guard (just a few torx screws). Once the cables were plugged into both fog lights (which by the way just clip in place in the bumper at the top and are then held in with two torx screws each on their lower edge), I then secured the cable in place using tie-wraps around existing wiring locally. I then had one final part of the harness to run up the drivers side of the engine bay near the inner wing (cable tying as I went to existing wiring), and ended up placing the cable (coiled up for the moment) inside the plenum chamber (the bit that covers the lower wiper mechanism that has grills on either side), and as it was getting dark, that's where I left it for now.

Hopefully at the weekend, I will remove the plenum plastic cover, (or at least prise it back to give access by removing the rubber seal at the top edge) and as I understand it, there is a blank grommet on the fire wall that can be used to get access to the cars cabin. Once I've got the cable inside the car (which I'm sure I've made sound easier that it will really be), then it connects to the lower socket of the vacant fuse position [54] in the main fuse box (at the lower edge of the drivers side dash near your knees). The Kufatec kit includes the correct crimped connector for inserting into the vacant fuse position. Finally, there a small patch wire that comes with the kit, and that goes from the other side of the fuse [54] (again it has the correct crimp connector on it), to the backside of the light switch where it goes into a vacant position in the light switch connector block at terminal position 8.

The new light switch with the additional front fog position has already been fitted.

AFAIK, that's it, and all should work. I'm sure getting the wiring into the car will be a PITA, but hopefully everything else should be pretty straightforward.

Was it easy to fit the tailpipes?

Guys, tailpipes are Genuine VW ones from the dealerships -part number 6R0253825 (thanks to b0rk and Wigit for the part number) - 2 off required

Dead easy to fit. Push on by hand as far as they will go, then using a plastic or soft face hammer with a piece of wood over the end of the chromed pipe, tap it on the remaining inch or so. Once on, the 4 internal metal claws grip the exhaust and don't allow it to come off. Total time about 5 minutes (including finding my hammer and a small block of wood )
