At the risk of stating the bleedin obvious, you know you have to lean into the boot and look up underneath the panel gareth_gt's arrow points at?

I had a quick look at Halfords paint section today, the book there tells you what colours were used on different models/years. No idea how accurate it is, but it might help.

I have examined the boot from every angle. In fact I spent a relaxing week in there, exploring the bits that most tourists never get to see. I rate it as a two star accomodation. It's somewhat cramped and noisy, plus the red colour gave me a headache, but it does have a certain olde worlde ambience that you just dont find in modern cars.

I suppose what kind of match you get depends on how well your paints been looked after. They do reckon that paint deteriorates after 5 years, if not polished, etc regularly.

Thanks.

Karl.

look up underneath the slam panel?

no, nobody ever mentioned that. not exactly "bleedin obvious" - i expected it to be somewhere plainly visible

i'll take another look then, when i've got it down off the jack (cocking a leg so i can eke some more fuel out of the leak hole and finish the annoying drip-drip phase quicker)
