Right iv bitten the bullet and ordered a tuning box off DTuk. Didnt order the pedal box as dont see the point. The tuning box gives more power and torque so should be a better investment. So far cant fault service and should be with me tomorrow. So will do some testing and update for all those with the 1.2 tsi engine and those interested. Gone the the box as the guy who quoted me £250 for remap has now took it up to almost £400 which if found steep as it wasnt a Revo map. Plus with the box if i sell the car i can always sell it on to claw some money back.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts. If you could take photos as you install it, that would be great.

Off course. Will try and create a step by step drive and experiment with it in different settings. I like the idea if anything goes wrong i can quickly unplug it and its all back to normal. If a remap goes badly wrong and i break down away from the company i think i would go mental

Quick update put settings to 1+1. Seems to give better gains around town. Only difference i can tell is map1 is more power lower down rpm range, map2 is more mid range power and map 3 more towards high end of rpm. map2 seems closest to how car runs stock just with more kick where turbo usually kicks in. map1 seems to make it all feel like it kicks in earlier

Where/how do you fix the box in the engine bay?

It fits nicely in the gap behind the battery near the top of the struts. Very easy to install and setup. Makes me smile everytime i accelerate now. Feels like a lot more than just 20bhp increase.

Thanks for the info re. Tuning box. I'm tempted...
Not a huge fan of the yellow fogs. They remind me of the terrible yellow headlights I had to put up with when I first came to live in France.

I can actually wheelspin going up hill now which is interesting at times. Its caught me out in the wet a couple of times today. But overall its fantastic even though its still early days. Cant imagine it ever coming off tbh. I know what you mean about the fogs. sometimes i look and think it looks good, other times i just cant decide. Will leave them for a week and see how i feel about them
