Ended up getting a Kenu Airframe to clip into the central air vents. Hopefully it does the job, seems a nice little bit of kit.

Are you satisfied with the Kenu holder? I am looking for exactly the same as you. Need to have a holder up in sight for my phone to do the navi job.
The Kenu doesn't fall out?

Hi Kalle. The Kenu Airframe works a treat. It holds my Nexus 5 without issue and it's at a good height if you're using the phone for sat nav duties. I've had brodit holders in the past and they're great but I didn't want anything attached permanently this time.
