i was goin to ask u at the time wot u ran it in Criz. 8 seconds is impressive, i want! uve done the exhaust (inc. manifold) and the filter, how much have all ur "power" mods cost?

Erm lets see.
Induction kit - £150
Manifold - £360
S/S Removable decat pipe - £40
S/S Mid section - £200
S/S Back box - £90
So £840
The car is now stripped though and Im planning on some 40 profile tyres for my 14's to help a little. And also towards then end of the year a Unichip and Stage 3 head.
So hopefully will see maybe 135bhp which should push it below 8 seconds.

Yeh Im gonna buy one of those performance metres. The work out your 0-60 time and 1/4 miles times using the g-forces your car creates.
So in theory it should be quite accurate.

looking forward to hearing wot u get from it, i guess up there in inverness u get the benifit of all that lovely cold air!
£800 is not bad to take a car from VTR level to VTS, the equivelant of a fair few grand in brand new car talk. saying that u pull away from the VTS's, dont u? id love that! so many people dont think a polo's not up 2 much. i love their faces when they pull up in their modded novas/corsas/puntos/metros/106/saxos on dual carriage ways at the lights thinking to beam by, how come the 16v has not registered as a fast car to them? muppets!

No Vts's will still be a tad faster than me. Ive got the same bhp but am abit heavier.
The polo was too expensive for the boyracers to buy. Plus the Vts was faster and u got free insurance.
Loads of people went out, bought em, "maxed" them up and due to the lack of individuality and thought all the other muppets wanted a car like that so went out and bought a saxo.
The Polo 16v is not a popular car so therfore quite unknown.

thought u said u pulled away from them, it must of been 4paws. have u raced a VTS? the french always seem to give high 0-60 figures and my mate reckons that saxos have been geared specially for the 0-60 sprint, to make it more appealing to the boy racers. meanin that 60 will be seen on the clock before third gear is reached for, with that in mind when they do change to third ur polo could be right there with them.
evo timed a VTS at 7.6 to 60, by 70 i think u could be neck and neck. the weight of a VTS is 935kg, according again to evo. when i was coming back from the isle of man i got stopped and searched just before the ferry, when they search u they put u on the wagon weighing scales just for the search. because i was on there i asked for the weight of my car and the 16v is 960kg. 25kg difference is not too much, its all in the gearing. u need to drag race one to a 100. evo claim their 100 time is 22.6

And it's great! You can download all the runs to your PC and work out pretty much all the stats you'd ever need

They're very accurate and once you've setup all the roll down figures, will give you your BHP readings. I've yet to try it in my Polo 16v though. In fact I'm sure my Tiger's about 6 seconds (maybe less with a more brutal start) to 60

Perhaps I'll give it a go this weekend if I've got a spare moment....
