What I understand from the repair sheet is that they have changed a bulb (GLB501) because they found an error that is showed in the control unit (BCM) when they diagnosed the car... with/due to code 02080.
Therefore, the problem was solved with the bulb change.

Sorry ciclo I forgot to mention this was in an old piece of paperwork I found in the cars handbook, from 2014! (Before I bought it)... so unless it was fixed in 2014 and broke again by 2015 when I bought it I think it wasn't repaired. The bulb mentioned in the list of parts there was the Headlight low beam not working for the MOT. Both garages it's been to in the last 2 years haven't been able to fix it...

Ah! ... LOL!
Then it is perfect for us, to try solve this issue/mystery. Do you have a multimeter? Do you know how to use it?
If this is not the case, try to replace the interior light switch assembly, it is very easy to do and rationally cheap (new or used).
What is your model, can you take a picture?

OK, ...remove the T3 connector from the interior lights and check the voltage between 2 (+) and 1 (-*) contact terminals when you open and close the door.

2 is the middle wire and 1 is the black/brown wire

Il just say now I am useless with cars and electronics but will give it a go when I get home. I am presuming I just remove the central lighting column on the roof and find all the wires?

Sorry I forgot to update on this!
You won't believe it, took the Alarm plastic cover off and poked the wires in the light unit and nothing happened (this was 2 weeks ago), tonight I pressed the unlock button walking up to my car and all the interior lights came on! Was confused to whether I was walking up to the right car! Over the moon, was obviously just a dodgy/loose wire.

Hi. I have the exact same problem.
I've measured voltage at the switch
11.6v door shut
11.85v door open
Any idea?
(as with original post, the light works fine on the manual switch but will not come on set to the central 'door' position. Worth noting also that the warning buzzer for lights left on also not working.)

Dodgy connector I reckon.... Just reassembled and now working fine for the first time in a month.
