Just because the Byte/Bit description is not present, does not mean that the Byte/Bit does not exist.
It can be modified (enabled/disabled) in other ways, by binary or hexadecimal.
Example for binary:

Note:
This may not be the solution to your problem.

The electrical system configuration is not the same in all models of the same vehicle, so a full Autoscan always helps enormously to identify the problem, saving everyone who can identify the problem from having to ask many questions to the vehicle owner.

The 6R's daytime running lights can be disabled in three different ways, depending on the electrical system configuration.
Personally I would not disable them under any circumstances, even if they were the most horrible DRLs in the history of DRLs. 😄

Thank you ciclo, I'll give what you posted on Youtube a try and let you know how I get on.

I have tried what you suggest ciclo, after I make the bit change and check it has changed by clicking on another to confirm it doesn't save when I exit. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Well, it seems that the method used in the video doesn't work that way anymore, they made changes in the program.
However, it is possible by entering the Hexadecimal value that corresponds to the bits already activated/deactivated in the Byte22 plus the value of the bit you want to activate/deactivate (1/0).
You can calculate it yourself, but if you want, tell me the current hexadecimal value of the Byte22 and I'll tell you what hexadecimal value you have to enter.

Hi ciclo, thank you for your help so far, here is where I'm up to.
I've got my vcds working correctly ( it wasn't earlier) I've retried what youv'e recommended before to no avail (Lights still either main or dip never both together) what do you recmmend I try next? I see you suggest I send a pic of what my current settings are but which page/view do you need?

Thanks in advance.

Please copy the long coding from your BCM and paste it here.

These make any sense ciclo?

Those are the Ne-tech applications that are inside the ross-tech program and they make sense as long as you know how to use them. Better LCode than LCode-Classic.

What we need is for you to do a complete Autoscan on your POLO 6R to know the Hexadecimal value of Byte22.
Because you don't have 10 posts yet in the forum, you probably won't be able to post your Autoscan here, and that's why I ask you to copy the long coding of the BCM (09 Address) from the Autoscan and paste it here, just that.

For example:

3CB02FBF48E12400B3380F317CEB9FD05AC8670F600D39D0220400030800
This is the long coding of my 6R BCM.

--------------------------------

Please ask as many questions as you need, I will teach you to become an expert in handling the programs in an easy way.

Ok Thanks, I think I get it now. I think it's obvious to you that I'm completely new and out of my depth with this so thank you once again for your help and patience.

N-Tech. LCode application. 'Example'.

Let's assume that the hexadecimal value in Byte22 in your BCM long coding is '3D' and we want to disable Bit2.

Since we know in advance that the resulting hexadecimal value when disabling Bit2 in Byte22 is '39', we type it in the hexadecimal box...

...so Bit2 is now disabled, all that remains is close the window to accept the new BCM long coding if you are working on the car with VCDS.

You can easily calculate the hexadecimal value of a Byte with the Ne-Tech application by enabling or disabling the Bits.

Hi ciclo,
I've worked out how to perfom an Autoscan! I've attached the coding and the bit in question looks correct? What is the problem or is it still something I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for you continued support.

Hi Heathcliff.

The problem is that your 6R's electrical configuration is not correct, which is something I already told you previously.
Please, let me explain, according to your BCM, your 6R is not a Bluemotion model with H4 or H7 headlights, which is the model on whose BCM this coding (Byte22 Bit2) can be performed/applied and for which this thread was started.

Fortunately, there is a simple solution based on the original diagrams to install H7 headlights on non-Bluemotion models with original factory H4 headlights.

Links to the solution:

...and some more posts that I can't find now but that are exactly the same.

Everything will work perfectly forever if you or a workshop does it correctly. It is a simple operation that requires some experience and tools.
