This morning I was looking out of my bedroom window and saw a ravenous seagull land on my Red Oolo GTI+. It was there 3 mins before flying off, and the aerial didn't interest it at all.



I also noticed that the red Polo (Pre WLTP) has a bigger aerial base. I'm not sure whether that is down to model year changes or because the red one has Nav and the white one doesn't.

Oh lawd! Don't tell VW a bird was on the roof of your car, or they'll be voiding your warranty!

Weird, mine is a 2019, with satnav, and my base looks like the bigger one - though i havent looked at it next to another one, so hard to say.

@monkeyhanger; the aerial base my previous generation GTI without sat nav is like the one on your white GTI+.

From the 2 most recent comments here, it would seem that built in satnav gets a bigger aerial base (more space inside required to house GPS gubbins?).

Escalating your complaint further moley? I think you might need to fire that letter/email off to someone that actually works for VW UK rather than a contracted out "customer service team".

I've just this second filled out the form and sent it off to the ombudsman.

I’d suggest writing rather than phoning. That way you’ll have a record of what you’ve said. You could try VW’s UK CEO; contact details at the link below;

He’s unlikely to deal with your issue personally, but hopefully you’ll get a response - and a positive one at that!
