Anyone get anywhere with this? It would be really nice feature for those long journeys, when I gradually go faster and faster.

This is what they said:
Thanks for the email…
We’ve never done this to the 6N2 before so aren’t sure to be honest, we’d need to physically see the car and plug it into our equipment to see if we could enable this on the ECU. If you are local feel free to pop up and we can take a look

I've seen cruise control on other cars, i think they have a display that shows the selected speed.
If you didnt have this display, how would you know what speed the cars going to accelerate to when you 'resume'? or would it be a simple + and - control?

What happens in my dad's Accord is that you accelerate to the speed you want it to 'cruise' at and then press the button to enable to cruise. The computer then maintains this speed. The Accord also has a + and - button, pressing either one once with either increase of decrease by one mph respectively. Keeping either one depressed with increase or decrease the speed as shown on the speedo.
There is also a resume button and cancel. Cancel is as what it says, simply cancels the cruise and disables it. Resume is where say you had to brake whilst cruising, this will disengage the cruise and to 'resume' it you press the resume button, the computer then increases the speed to to speed it was last set at. I assume this will be how the cruise on the Polo will work as we don't have a screen displaying the information.
