Miles to the gallon etc

i get approx 280 miles on a full tank...

Can someone work out how much MPG it does please?

I better find somewhere to hide. Maybe it's cuz i was pushing the car like a maniac the first time out with it, ALONE!

Well, i've calmed down on my driving this time, i take it really easy than i did before, i'll post my new mileage soon, when the tank empties (a week?)

From a full tank of Shell's ordinary petrol i got 304 miles untill the petrol light came on. im not sure exatly how much litres the tank holds.

The engine is a 1.4 8v

ive same engine but with a bmc airfilter and i get bout that sometimes bit over 320.

40 Litres (I think but it just might be 45 but my money is on 40)

How much fuel did you have to put in to brim it again cos thats the info you need to work out the MPG - I've only had the fuel light on once and that was driving mine home the day I bought it - for some strange reason I always like to see if I can get a new car home on the fuel in the tank - invariably I do - perverse really

I think when I filled up I only got 36L in it so it either has a gallon or two in reserve

I cant remember how much i had to put in, i think it is about 40 litres

I'll be able to post again on friday or saturday and i'll do another test.

The car has a Universal air filter and a Rage backbox on it, apart from that the engine is standard. TBH it has had a bit of a hard time this week due to me running late for work and having to drive that little bit harder than usual.
