Most times when a part like an electric coolant pump, stops working, it can be made to start working again, but I'd think that in most cases, it will fail again, and for that reason, I think nothing about spending money to replace the part that had stopped working by itself = it might not respond to "tapping" in the near future.
With any faults, I just want to get rid of that being an issue as soon as possible, doing that has always worked better for me, both for home life and for work life, no one relying on you at home or work wants to hear, "that give me trouble a few weeks/months ago but it started working again" when that part has failed once again!

Oh you were right on it. I was just gonna pretend like it was fixed , but I went out 15 min ago to park the car and the engine light came back on
To be honest I would lie if I said the thought of the pump failing again didn't cross my mind on the drive home.
Already ordered the new pump, should be here in a couple of days.
