I would have never thought to get the engine wet! The sensors and electrical components must be water resistant, as they are surely bound to get quite wet? My assumption was that the bonnet and belly pan protected the electrics from water ingress and that getting them wet wasn’t great. What you said is good to know though. I’ll give the engine bay a good clean how you described. Previously I have used partially wet microfibre cloths which has worked somewhat poorly. Are the breather ports for the transmission anything to think about covering?
