Re: Need help on Side Assist
Hello everyone,
My 5Q0 radars and indicators are working good.
However, I have encountered a new problem.
When I turn on the left turn signal with a vehicle on the left rear side, the right indicator light flashes (instead of the left one).
I tried to edit long coding, and I have tested it for both LHD(in my country) and RHD. Obviously, this didn't work.(now is 03 01 11 01)
The reason might be that my 5Q0 radars(both Master and Slave) is from Japan(RHD country)?

Following are are some interesting photos of when I installed the radar on my Indian Polo. cut install

Strange.
Idea... since you made subsequent activations on the instrument panel after installing the radars, I would try to load the parameters again, for a new calibration.
Just out of curiosity:
What is the cause, or any special reason, for the cloth tape on radars?

Those rear foam pads can be problematic, it was the case in my installation. You can try removing those foam pads and test again.
Re: Need help on Side Assist
Haha, I know it's really strange
I tried many different methods to fix the radar brackets.
After fixing the radar brackets each time, I recalibrated and loaded the parameters of V03935258DF (Golf) and V03935276UZ (Seat Arona) for testing.
At first, I referred to MaDwArLoCk from driver2 (of course, not installing foam pads with this method).
like this photo on my POLO
But, my radar is getting interference (the indicator will remain on continuously, except it will turn off for a few seconds when the vehicle passes through), maybe because of the radar brackets being at different position. Next, I tried direct taping the radars to the bumper without brackets (which is why there is tape on the radars).
However, the radar drops because of radars and bumper are different shapes (the bumper is curved, while the radar is straight).
So, finally, I fixed the radar brackets on foam pads.

Good news!
Today, Taiwan has a huge typhoon bringing heavy rain.
I discovered that both of my second-hand radars are filled with water.
So now I need to buy a new one.I hope I won't encounter the above issue again.

Hi guys, I finally figured out what was happening with my polo.
When I checked the wiring of 5Q0 radars I found that both the radars and indicator lights are reversed left and right.
After rewiring, everything works well now.

Congratulations! Enjoy it.
It seems that the 5Q0 radars in Japan are like in the rest of the world, left is left and right is right...
