Looking at the videos of these chinese fancy clusters, I feel that too much of unnecessary and distracting stuff has been added into software. I am sure opinions will be mixed, I will fence sit on this one.

I agree with your comment about the SW, however in our MQBs we also have too many nonsense that are only interesting at the beginning of using it. Basically these screens are a smartphone embedded above the instrument panel. I think it makes more practical sense as far as cleaning and deterioration are concerned.

I am absolutely sure that many 6Rs from '2009-->' have their instrument panels deeply deteriorated, and these screens offer a great aesthetic renovation... as well as very practical functions for vehicles manufactured in '2009'.

We will see who is the first in the world to show us a review of this retrofit, fortunately there are people of all conditions and dreams on this wonderful planet.

To be honest, it could be very interesting to see somebody performing the installation.

Now concerning the look inside the car, I have some doubts about the harmony of the interior design.
I mean, it's a nice upgrade, but since first Polo arrives in 2009 and the design is now 16 years old.

About taste, I prefer a beautiful cluster with nice needles and nice typographie and a decent screen on the middle to get alternative informations.

Cluster on 6C looks perfect to me: well design, elegant and sober.

The Golf 7 basically follows the interior design of VW vehicles from years ago, and the AID and DPro are happily accepted by everyone better than the basic instrument panels like the ones are used in 6C.

This digital screen I don't think is a problem for 6R, what is most intriguing in terms of harmony is that outer frame, it seems too big...

Golf 7 and 7.5 "feels" more modern to be honest.

Like the 6C over the 6R, the interior (thanks to the steering wheel, center console etc...) looks way better than 6R.
But yeah, outer frame seems big and chunky

I think this Digital Cockpit would fit well in my 6R.


But according to the store, they no longer offer shipping from Poland (EU) for the 6R, so I'm sure I won't buy it.
The taxes and especially the customs procedures regarding the presentation of documentation and paperwork here are a real pain, they are made for people from previous centuries (I think intentionally). In the 21st century it is still necessary to have a printer to do these procedures here...

The unfortunate place where I was accidentally born, Life is absolutely/infinitely easier in other places on the/My planet.

One thing that would annoy me on these, just judging by the videos I've looked at, is the backlight. That's way too bright with the black background glowing grey. Would at least need a filter over it to knock that down.

I like projects like this. I don't like the amount of time and funds they take though. I ain't got none of those left.

This YouTube channel has the entire installation process in two or three videos in case you're interested.

Depending on the ambient lighting, the recording devices always tend to increase the brightness, this has happened to me on several occasions and I have had to lower the brightness of the interior lighting with the Dimmer. The bright can also be modified +/- in one of the menus.

I have watched many videos to investigate a little more about the functions, menus, assistants, etc. and in general terms these Screens/Digital cockpit are quite acceptable. In the 6R it would fit perfectly in terms of electronics.

Hopefully someone will soon show us a review so we can evaluate it.

Pretty cool. 6R has so many more mod options than 6C. If I had some spare cash I'd grab one of those and see how much different it is to get running in a 6C.

Wait .. no .. nevermind. I'm spending too much money on the car as it is.

I do have pics from that! Also TPMS, BSD, and lot of other mods are working on that cluster.

I was skeptical about it, but its actually good!

Since you had the original GTI instrument cluster, could you give us a brief comparative assessment? I understand it's always a personal opinion, but I'm very interested in your opinion regarding the visual impact of the frame surrounding this AID's display. This is where my scepticism lies.
