Personally I have to say I'm quite a fan of cossies, and if I had a budget of more than £295 for the car and £450 for the insurance, I wouldn't mind one... but I still like to keep some dignity and not have black smoke pouring from my rear end
..I have white smoke instead. Headgasket time, methinks

You'd probably be suprised.
E5COS wrote:Everyone to there own some peeps like slow girls cars

some like proper wrc flame spitting missiles

Its getting hard to use that stereotype these days with all the 170bhp+ G40's and 1.8T's popping up
p.w Does it count if I get a flamer kit?

If i wanted a wrc flame spitting missile i think i would buy an Audi S1..with a real wrc pedigree...thunderous roar and water cooled brakes as apposed to burberry cap and black soot

Didn't Alistair McRae used to rally a mk4 polo? Or was that a golf.. can't remember, it was a while ago
An escort cossie is blatently going to be more rallying material than a polo is, they're a completely different breed of car. However, I think the WRX cars tended not to asphyxiate the spectators as they flew past

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't the Escort Cosworth was basically a Sierra Sapphire in drag?
Also, can someone please point out when somebody said the Polo had a fantastic motorsport heritage?

The Polo has a fair bit of sporting heritage. The very rare Mark2 GT G40 (Germany only) helped set a number of world endurance speed records - such as the 24 hour 130mph record. The Mark3 G40 spawned the G40 cup, while Mark4/5/6s have had some participation in rallying (admittedly not the wrc, but its still motorsport).
I'm not really for all this car bashing stuff, and whos is better than whos, but thats just my 2p worth.
Karl.
