I had the same problem a while ago, my garage tried everything, but no thing seemed to solve it. That was untill I changed petrol, I was useing supermarkets then I tried Essco, it stopped it compleatly. That was untill I moved house and started usings the local BP station and it all started to happen again. Luckly I found a local Essco station and it run great again.

I use optimax and mine still does it if i have the cold air feed connected to my induction kit. take cold air feed off and all is fine...when i clean the TB out though it works fine if cold air feed is connected or not. Strange

you do know that all the fule comes from the nearest refinary! like mine is shell stanlow in ellesmere port but all the bp, supermarkets etc, get there fule from hear! the only diffrence is that shell fule has diffrent additives, optimax will only come from stanlow dosen't matter where you live in the contry! my dad worked there for 26 years and he will only put optimax in his! and he works for BP now

I had a similar problem on my 9N polo. I took it in for a service and they told me it was a manufacturing defect. The speed / thermal sensors had to be replaced.

At first i thought it was my HID's that did them problem, but now its all solved.
