What if he put it in a ponytail or something?

And anyway, Jenson Button has shoulder-length locks - the F1 drivers put a (fireproof?) balaclava on before they put their helmets on - tidies everything up see. Presumably its the same for other motorsports?

nah, it's more for the smug sense of self satisfaction i get knowing i'm 3 minutes closer to home simply because i saw a gap / quicker moving lane of traffic about to take shape and grabbed the opportunity. whilst the guys in the 2.5 litre bahnwagens are still steaming a half a mile behind.

(the very best bit however, was teaching mum how to do this on her daily commute into the centre of birmingham - for example, usually she ends up fuming in the outside lane of the expressway as it goes from 2 down into 1 at the sticky end... i showed her that pulling into the inside lane a minute or so earlier, whilst apparently a touch slower at that point, would soon pay off and see her sailing past loads of nearly-stopped people at a good 25mph or more, until it's time for the next (pre-planned!) lane change back to the outside)

if i'm REALLY trying to motor on down in the rush hour then the back streets win the prize every time. as i've found with the weekly 50 mile college jaunt - when you find the golden route, you dont even have to bother with making the speed limit, just sit in the freer flowing traffic and bliss out that, whilst you might "only" be making 45 down a relatively decent bit of 60-limit B-road / "unclassified", all the schlubs on the main well known A-road the other side of that field are barely averaging 10 in five miles of chronic, daily tailback. Brings things into perspective. :D

and no i'm not gonna tell you what route that is, as if im gonna see my pressure valve get swamped

lol

i work in manchester - and i socialise in it to

so i'm often doing cross town jaunts at rush hour

the tactic is, in the evening, always make sure your driving more towards the center of town, than away from it

if this means going around various ring type roads, then do it

its well funny

(whether i get places any faster or not, i dont know - but at least i'm not sat in traffic for ages)
