check that you're accepting cookies fromt his site, if you look on the lower toolbar, near where it says internet and has a pic ofa little globe, is there a red icon to the lft? if so click this and chnage the setting to "accept cookies fromt his site"
hope that helps

oh, and i've noticed the quietness recently, but i guess its to do with the end of the show season and crap weather we're having at the mo.

i try to help with any posts i make, but if im posting crap then please tell me

wierd, both IE and Firefox keep me logged in automatically, never had to do anything with em

occasionally - and i mean super occasionnaly - i'll end up booted from either here or porka, but not both....

it even works at work, and i think possibly it happened on one PC i'd never used before, which was spooky til i realise my temp files must be network based.

wonder what other things it's holding about me though :D

Should keep you logged on ;)

Now, back to the topic in question.. I don't think the forum's going downhill at all. I have noticed the loss of a few prominent posters for whatever reason, mainly people buying new cars and moving on from polos. But hey, that will happen, not everyone's going to stick with a small hatchback all their lives, and there'll always be someone else to follow in their footsteps. On the same note, I think it shows a great deal of dedication that Josh has kept pouring time, money and effort into the forums, despite having moved away from polos, and I don't think that kind of dedication goes with a forum that's not worth bothering with. I think you only need to go over to porka.net to see that we've got a generally excellent quality of posting here, and a lot of decent people who actually think about what they're saying before they say it.. and I'd far rather have that than a hundred posts full of rubbish every hour.

Even if it is a bit quiet around here at the moment, I would agree that it's mainly because it's winter.. suddenly the posts move from interesting and innovative ideas for mods to endless "Why the hell won't my car start" questions (yep, I'm very much guilty of this..). But that'll change come the spring, when it's still actually light enough to work on your car for more than half an hour after work if you're lucky..

Anyway, I'll be sticking around because I think this forum is a great place to waste vast amounts of precious time every evening :D

...at work :P

Like Groovy said, its the end of the show season, the dark nights are here to stay for a bit, so apart from the odd "how do I do this?", or "why is my car making odd noises?" posts, not much to report. In my case I'm just skinted cos its Chrsitmas and I've been buying presents and 'boarding gear fro January...

I have been a member here for a while now , i browse both porka and this site . I will be posting alot more on this forum soon because i am probably going to be upgrading from the trusty little 1 litre mk4 (great first car but need more under the right foot ) to a mk6 tdi (fingers crossed) and this seems a friendly place and you have alot more members who own mk6's . But i am a quiet one i'm afraid but i will try and post more and i do have plans for the mk6 which i have not seen in the uk ( need money but i'm on with it ) . And also porka is becoming more like WW III than a forum these days . I think your all doing a grand job and should keep it up into the new year .

And I am a student and i have hours and hours to waste :)

Merry Xmas Uk-polos

me too mate

the username in question was my actual homework computer when i signed up for my first yahoo mail account using the school library's super fast 14.4k modem...

theres a couple others, but like hell i can remember em. have enough trouble remembering what... errr (fingers...) one... two....... must be a grand total of five passwords now across gawd knows how many accounts. variations on each of course.. which probably does nowt for security, just increases the uncertainty. was that the wrong password? or the right one but with a 1 where there should be an i?
