hmm
heres the wierdest thing, my win98 pc has no MS keys, but my win 3.1 laptop has a full compliment of the stupid things - what gives?
or something like Powerstrip that lets you override the regular resolution and refresh rate barriers
or a handy "virtual desktop" thing, either bundled in your video driver, or (i think?) freeware online.
not that it bothers me, as i have that decent 15"er which can display an (albeit flickery) 1280x1024 image. and even the lappy can do simulated 1280, scrolling around following the mouse inside of a 640 frame - bit scary, that... less scary is how it can use oldskool interlacing to make it work on all but the crappest 14" monitor
yay for interlace!
errr.... don't have one... but there is always the handy (hold down) Alt + (press) Tab combination still alive... and Ctrl + Esc for the start menu what also reveals task bar!To switch between ETKA and your other Windows programs, press the 'Microsoft' button on your keyboard [between 'Ctrl' and 'Alt'] to reveal the Taskbar.

or a 17", or a 15" that is either 1280 rez or can shrink it down in the hardware... or a decent 15/17" CRT that can handle it.Remember that ETKA is the excuse you always needed for that 19" TFT monitor!!!

Yeah, sorry - I didn't actually write that, or read it for that matter!!
I would've pointed out the whole alt+tab thing otherwise!!
My 17" TFT runs 1280x1024. Couldn't see the point in a 19" one as most only display 1280x1024, it's just a bit bigger that's all!! - And more expensive!!
Anyway, combined with my 17" CRT, I have a whopping resolution of 2560x1024!!

eh never mind chuck, i was a bit out of my brain at that point on sleep loss
you could always go for a variant of that method with two 1024x768 flat panels - i've just discovered that the dell LCD i'm using can be rotated 90 degrees on it's stand, and the video driver supports it! Full A4 page ownage! (to quote, er, someone -- "i'm doin' it right now!")
2x side by side = 1536x1024, or, more than enough (assuming you can wedge them together close enough that the border isnt too much of an issue)
