Bought my bonnet from a other mk4 fdriver, he sold his Polo in parts, and I got the bad-body bonnet. But it's not properly welded on, so I'm gonna put on the original bonnet again when I saved enough cash to get it sprayed again to clear all the stone-chips (or whatever you call them)

Think its great what your doing.

However slight question about the changing the rear drum brakes to disc brakes... im cosidering doing this as i want the car to brake instead of slide.

You make it look easy. But how did you get around the handbrake linking up??? i really want to do the conversion but think you make it look much easier that it really is?

dunno what u r talkin' about m8  I'm gonna change my front discs (which are now the massive VWI system) to the vented VWII system. Rear will remain drums.

But m8 of mine DID do a rear disc conversion, to do this properly you need a rear axle from either a mk4 16v or GTI (yes, the mk4 was also made in a GTI version, only sold in Germany) or mk5 16v or GTI or a Ibiza Cupra or Golf mk2 GTI rear axle (these last 2 are mostly cheaper to buy second-handed). Golf axle is a bit more work, but otherrs are a straight swap. Hand brake won't give you that much trouble, dunno the exact mods, but my m8 modded it within an hour to get it fitted ;)

Why I haven't done this myself yet?:
1) money, still a student, can spend the money on "better" parts ;)
2) don't need the extra brake power (yet  ), since I don't need the extra power, the discs will easily start to corrode and rust, which is not to well for future braking power and costs you a lot of money (by buying new discs every time since your old one's are rusting ........... again)

I absolutely haven't got a clue, and don't want to think of that since the total amount will probably scare me

Well, haven't been around here to much lately

But got some "minor up-dates" since recently I wanted to share.

First of all I went to the Motorshow in Essen Germany again last december, scored myself some treats there:

Image

Got myself some silicon hoses, volt- oilpressure- and oiltemperaturemeters, chrome vents, chrome cap for the radiatorfluid, chrome Wolfsbrug Edition buttons for the heating, adaptor for the oilpress&temp meters and chrome doorhandles for the inside.

It's all gonna be black & chrome from the inside 8) So to complete this I had to do something to the interior/seating, which isn't all black now

Scored myself a solution for that on Ebay last week, picked it up this afternoon. Took a trip with my brother to Germany (4,5 hour drive in total) and got myself this:

Image

Rearseat:

Image

Yep, that's a dead cow wrapped around some seats 8)
It's a Golf mk3 VR6 Highline interior to be exact. Sportseats, adjustable in hight, dividable rearseat with headrests, wrapped in black leather and supplied with electronic heating, in total mint condition. The German I bought it from ripped it out of his show-car (he's now got Audi TT seats in it), the fellow hardly used the car, or the seats, and totally refurbed the bastards :D

Also scored some more on the Bay:

Image

50mm spacers, sanded of the rust and coated them black:

Image

these will come up front, also bought a pair of 60mm spacers, that will come on the rear axle. gonna paid these black too of course.

also scored this litle item on Ebay:
Image

all the lighting in the interior will be transformed to original VDub blue and red. (the meters I bought in Essen are also blue lighted, with a red needle 8) sweet)

Started to smoothen my mid-concolse again, now used a different method which is much stronger, used polyester this time, it's as hard as my cock in the morning

Image

And finally I took over a new coilover set from a mate of mine:

Image

Image

It's a FK Highsport one, got it for a bargain, now refurbing it completely. Actually it's for a mk5 Polo, but will fit a mk4 too, just have to adjust the topdome-rubbers  then it will fit like a glove 8)

Image

Already got the front-shocks almost completely cleaned and ready 8)

And finally bought an extra JBL GTO606ce compo-set. This will come in the front doorpanels too. How will I fit these? The answer is easy:

Image

Image

THere polyester doorpanels made for the mk4 doors, and house 2 6" speakers, which will do fine to hold my 2 JBL compo-sets

Well, got a lot to do in the next couple of weeks/months, but that doesn't stop me, the total interior will probably be ripped out in the next couple of weeks, then I can start with that at first, and work on the coilover during days. I try to keep you all posted on a more "regular basis" then the last couple of months

I bought a couple of these from a German company (funny thing was they were located in Wolfsburg  , so you could call it a WOB-mod-item  ) Got me 7 in total, used 1 for myself, and sold 6 of them. Which means I still have a spare one lying around here

Lookin' good!

I'm also working on the black and chrome interior ( just got the chrome handles, and now i'm going to light them up like the audi's), but i'm converting the interior lights to red.

What are you going to do with the old air vents? I need one, if you are going to get rid of them!

7 total, sold 6, used 1 for yourself. Doesn't that mean they are all gone?!

With those leather seats the car will be mint!
